Hilton Head Island, SC: Travel Guide

I just got back from my first beach week since 2015! I went to Hilton Head Island, SC to celebrate a friend’s 30th birthday. We rented a house for the week from VRBO and it was GORGEOUS. Each bedroom had an attached bathroom and there were multiple common areas for games and movies! I mean look at this pool and hot tub 😍

The weather was thankfully perfect the whole week, no rain and all sun. Being on a private beach was great because there was a lot of space for games and relaxation. Some beach must haves like these Tommy Bahama Chairs, Beersbie, and wagons made each day perfect! Amazon items are linked!

One of my favorite parts of vacation is taking long beach walks. We walked down to an ice cream shop the one day at Coligny Plaza called The Ice Cream Cone. I got the raspberry chocolate chip in a chocolate waffle cone and it was bomb. We also stopped by a shop called Black Market Minerals to get some cute jewelry. These necklaces were 2/$14 so I had to take advantage of the deal 😉

Another one of our walks lead us down by this jetty which was off the beaten path. It was a nice place to look for hermit crabs and sand dollars, and a photo shoot!

We ate a lot of meals at the house like this low country boil with corn, sausage, shrimp and potatoes. This was my first ever low country boil! We had some cornbread and kale salad on the side as well.

We did go out to dinner the two last nights though after we finished the majority of the food in the house. The first dinner was at the Black Marlin where I got the bayside seafood trio with a side of asparagus and an added lobster tail. I didn’t take any pics but OMG it was incredible. We also decided to get a bunch of appetizers for the table and my favorites were the calamari and buffalo shrimp! The second dinner was at Frankie Bones. I had a meal from Zaxby’s earlier so I wasn’t super hungry. I decided on a caprese salad and whipped sweet potatoes with the signature cucumber mint martini. The star of the meal was the chocolate espresso brownie dessert with vanilla ice cream. It was so big I had to share!

Our last day we woke up early to walk the beach and watch the sunrise. It was the perfect way to start the day. There were so many families and dogs walking around and enjoying the morning.

After we got back from the beach we stopped for breakfast and coffee on the way to the airport. We went to Carolina Coffee & Crumbs and I got a S’mores latte and breakfast burrito. I assumed I was getting a hot coffee because I didn’t specify but actually they made everything iced because the weather is always hot there LOL.

I flew back to Pittsburgh with American Airlines and enjoyed watching Schitt’s Creek for free on the AA app.

I am now safely home and going to be taking a travel break for a bit to enjoy Pittsburgh during the fall and holiday season 😊
